SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REP (part-time, Vancouver) - Spring/Summer 2024

Wize Tea manufactures and sells refreshing, low sugar, sustainable iced teas made from upcycled coffee leaves. We’re the global leader in coffee leaf innovation and are here to disrupt the global beverage market. Our line of Sparkling Iced Teas is selling fast in BC, and we’re looking for a champion to help deepen our presence in the Greater Vancouver Area (GVA).

Your main objectives will be to build our brand in grocery stores and foodservice locations around the GVA and find creative ways to grow points of purchase, increase turnover and build strong relationships with retailers. You will have the unique opportunity to work directly with founders in a fast-growing startup environment with dynamic leadership that will help you thrive. We are highly results-driven and will support your personal and professional growth in a flexible and dynamic work environment.

After all, it’s a small team that packs a big punch, and we are writing our own story every day.

General responsibilities include and not limited to:

Grocery, Convenience, and Food Service Outside Sales

  • Making outbound sales visits and calls for the purpose of prospecting, converting and breaking into new grocery and foodservice accounts as well as maintaining existing ones
    • 80% on the road visiting existing and prospective accounts
    • 20% doing follow-ups and management from home
  • Actively driving the full sales cycle, from initial contact to close, to re-order
  • Maintaining records of all client interactions and sales pipeline in the company’s CRM
  • Achieving and surpassing the assigned revenue targets
  • Building a sales strategy to bring every store up to a minimum amount of cases sold per month
  • Managing the distributor and broker reps to ensure we have constant sales and restocks

Occasional Event support

  • Coordinate in-store, on-premise, and guerrilla activations with the Wize team to positively represent the brand in front of customers and wholesale buyers

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 6 months experience in frontline sales or relevant field
  • Must have a vehicle
  • Must be comfortable lifting cases of iced tea up to 50 lbs total weight
  • Be a self-starter and able to work independently, showing initiative and responsibility in your tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and not afraid to roll your sleeves up and fix something that needs attention
  • Strong commitment to your goals and objectives; must follow through on projects/ideas
  • Passion for closing the sale and being a leader in a fast-paced environment

We are looking for a driven individual that possesses a combination of a strong sense of customer service, high attention to detail, and entrepreneurial grit to join our team as Sales & Business Development Manager. The intention is to hire this person long-term as they build their career with us and become an integral part of the team going forward. Priority will be given to individuals with a driven spirit, who are self-starters, and have experience in customer service or diverse client-facing experience. You must be a strong written and verbal communicator. You must also have a positive attitude and know how to roll your sleeves up and get stuff done for the greater good of the Wize Team.

Campus Brand Ambassador (Voluntary-Intern)

Duration: 12-15 weeks (Flexible and possibility of extension)

Location: On-site (Vancouver BC, Montreal QC, and Toronto ON) 

Position Overview:

Wize Tea is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Campus Brand Ambassador. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships, hosting product demos, assisting with sponsorship preparation for upcoming events, and helping to prepare and manage campus events. This internship offers flexibility and requires a commitment of 3-8 hours per week, depending on your availability and schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Campus students, departments and clubs by seeking sponsorship opportunities, following up on leads, and providing support as needed
  • Host product demos at various locations to introduce Wize Tea to new customers
  • Assist in preparing and managing campus and community events
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies to increase brand awareness and customer engagement
  • Help with sponsorship research, coordination, and management for upcoming events
  • Monitor and analyze customer feedback to improve customer satisfaction and retention

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Business, Marketing, Hospitality or related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Knowledge of event planning and project management is a plus
  • Passion for customer service and experience in customer-facing roles is preferred
  • Having access to a vehicle is highly desirable
