Welcome to the 108th volume of WizeWorld: a collection of stories and sounds to round out your week, pique your curiosity, and widen your wizdom.
This week’s theme is a new day: whether it’s sunshine in a pill, images of nearly extinct species that are now flourishing, or images that offer a hopeful view of future generations, we’re feeling positive about the road ahead.
We’ll be looking at:
- Could low Vitamin D levels be tied to inflammation?
- An interview with fitness trainer Ty Edwards
- Seth Globepainter’s tribute to childhood
- Therapy with Deadaelus from B-Side Radio
- 2022’s Wildlife Photography of the Year entries
Learn
Healthline reports that low Vitamin D levels may be tied to inflammatory conditions like cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Why? The lower the Vitamin D, the higher the C-Reactive protein (which is often an indicator of inflammation), so experts suggest that taking supplemental Vitamin D (or getting outdoors more often) could be one way to cut down on chronic inflammation. If you are looking for an outdoor adventure to soak up some natural Vitamin D, be sure to grab a Wize filled with other great anti-inflammatory elements like Mangiferin and EGCG.

Fitness trainer Tyler Edwards says he wasn’t blessed with height or amazing goal-scoring abilities, but he always loved athletics. He eventually found a natural home in gymnastics, competing for 16 years and ultimately representing Canada on the world stage. Now he’s come out with his own bootcamp called Burncamp that helps people reach their fitness goals while having fun. The one thing he can’t stand? Health-washing: he urges people to do their research and choose beverages like Wize that cut down on sugar while offering a small energy boost.
