North Vancouver, CA
How did you discover your talent? What got you started?
When I was 9 my dad introduced me into downhill mountain biking and I automatically loved it. I decided to start racing when I was 14 years old and it’s been my favorite thing to do ever since.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
For the longest time as a kid I wanted to be a veterinarian, but then I got introduced to biking and that changed my whole mindset on what I wanted to be. Now, I want to be a professional downhill mountain biker.
Who was your biggest inspiration?
My dad, because he never quit and he always kept going even when things weren’t the best.
What makes you keep innovating and pushing your skills to new heights? What’s the intrinsic driver or motivation?
My dream is to go pro and I know that the only way that can happen is if I keep pushing myself and getting rid of those fears I may have.
If you could meet an idol or figure of any era, who would it be? What would you ask them?
I would really like to meet Myriam Nicole. She has inspired me a lot and is an incredible biker. If I met her, two questions I would definitely ask her is how long it took her to get to her pro stage of biking and the ups and downs that came along with the journey.
So far, what has been your favourite highlight of your career? An achievement? A specific moment?
The new friends you make and all the new people you meet. No one acts better than someone else and everyone is kind and humble.
In regards to your career, where do you want to be in 5 or 10 years?
I would like to be a professional mountain biker racer in these years, but I also want to go into forensic science and solve crimes.
In terms of healthy habit, what are your thoughts on the current beverage options out there? (I.e. Energy Drinks, high caffeine, high sugar drinks)
I do believe that Redbull, Monster, Rockstar, etc. aren’t good for you and can give you that risk of having a heart attack, but nowadays there isn’t anything out there that can give you a boost of energy that is healthy.
How does Wize fit into your current lifestyle? And why do you choose Wize?
I chose Wize because every now and then I do like to have a tasty drink that has caffeine in it and can give me energy, and Wize is a healthy version of energy drinks.
What are the next projects coming down the pipeline?
In about a month I have an edit that I am filming, over the summer I have all the BC and Canada cups to race, and I am also hoping to make it to a World Race this Summer.
What’s your favourite flavour of Wize tea? When do you typically drink it?
I haven’t tried all of the flavours of Wize tea, but so far I would have to say my favourite is grapefruit. I would usually drink one of these before going to ride my bike.
