How did you discover your talent? What got you started?
It all kinda started with skateboarding! Me and my dad would go skate the local Vancouver parks and then both my parents being lovers of the mountains got me on the old board! Then just kept going and had a good group of friends boarding with me and we all just kept doing it and having fun!
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Haha! Well of course a pro snowboarder or skateboarder, but also wanted to be a pro soccer player, even went through a stage of wanting to be a construction worker :}
Who was your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspirations are my parents. Just wanted to live like they did exploring the world and living in beautiful places such as B.C. My biggest snowboard inspiration was probably one of my really close friends Jadyn Chomlack, I just always liked watching him snowboard and wanted to ride like him.
What makes you keep innovating and pushing your skills to new heights? What’s the intrinsic driver or motivation?
I get motivated by the people around. Watching them learn new tricks or hitting new features motivates me to do the same!
So far, what has been your favourite highlight of your career? An achievement? A specific moment?
My favourite highlight was going to Australia with the Whistler valley snowboard club in the summertime. Was an insane experience to say the least and was kinda when I realized that snowboarding was gonna take me places I would never think of going! Made me realize this is what I want to do!
In regards to your career, where do you want to be in 5 or 10 years?
In 5-10 years either want to be competing at a worldwide level or making video parts/movies with my friends! Maybe even both!
In terms of healthy habits, what are your thoughts on the current beverage options out there? (I.e. Energy Drinks, high sugar drinks etc)
Well to be honest I used to be a big high sugar drink type of guy and I would have them quite often cause they were a cheap drink to have after a tiring skate session. I would drink the classics like root beer, brisk tea and so on.
How does Wize fit into your current lifestyle? And why do you choose Wize?
When I first had a wize tea I was shocked about how refreshing and good it was! Then finding out it had only 1g of sugar in it I got so stoked, it was finally a drink that I could have after a big skate session and feel good about what was going into my body!
What are the next projects coming down the pipeline?
Projects coming up will be doing more filming in the streets and hopefully in the backcountry!
What’s your favourite flavour of Wize tea? When do you typically drink it?
I like them all and honestly couldn't pick one! My favourite time to have a tea is after a big skate session or a big day on my snowboard, pretty much anytime I need a refresher!
