How did you discover your talent? What got you started?

My older brother and I used to share a plastic snowboard in the backyard making our own jumps and rails. Once I got my first real set up and went to the home resort “Boler” I was hooked.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was younger I wanted to be an architect but always struggled with math so I gave up on that and focused on both soccer and football.

Who was your biggest inspiration?

In terms of snowboarding I would have to say Russell Winfield or Stevie Bell because they were the first black snowboarders I heard of and watched, but it’s Ojo forever.

What makes you keep innovating and pushing your skills to new heights? What’s the intrinsic driver or motivation?

It’s changed a lot for me, snowboarding with friends and learning new tricks with them is always a fun way to push yourself. After coming back from my head injury I would say gaining my confidence back and relearning the tricks I always used to do is something that really pushes me to get back to the level I was at so I can continue to grow as an athlete.

So far, what has been your favourite highlight of your career? An achievement? A specific moment?

So far I would say the highlight of my career which I feel just started was signing my first contract with Burton Snowboards. Other than that I would say all the love and support from the snowboard community/industry when I hit my head. I was unable to compete in “Hot Dawgz & Hand Rails” at Bear Mountain but I was still invited back to judge the contest and that was really cool of them to do.

In regards to your career, where do you want to be in 5 or 10 years?

In the next 5 to 10 years I would love to still be a part of the Burton family. Long term goals, I would love to keep working on my Dome.Peace project pushing helmet awareness and eventually having helmets made.

In terms of healthy habits, what are your thoughts on the current beverage options out there?  (I.e. Energy Drinks, high sugar drinks etc)

I have never really been into energy drinks personally. The closest thing to energy drinks I have is probably coffee or Aloe water.

How does Wize fit into your current lifestyle? And why do you choose Wize?

Wize fits into my current lifestyle because of this crazy heat wave we are going through lol and it’s just a nice refreshing drink to have after doing basically any kind of exercise. I chose Wize because I do love iced tea and this is the healthiest option I have seen and tried.

What are the next projects coming down the pipeline?

No real projects set yet but I would love to get back into the streets this winter and start filming in the streets again as I haven’t done any of that since my head Injury. I would also love to get into the backcountry more as I did a little bit this past season and it’s definitely a fun and difficult learning experience.

What’s your favourite flavour of Wize tea? When do you typically drink it?

My favourite Wize Tea I have had so far is the Mango and I usually drink it after a skate or bike ride.
