Ollie Cooper, aka @oilycopperpen, is a London UK native and new Vancouverite. With incredibly versatile style and a fantastic dry wit (must be a british thing?), he creates illustrations that are bound to make you think, cry, laugh, and ask yourself where the last half-hour just went.

What makes you keep innovating and pushing your craft to new heights? What’s your true motivation?

Simply loving what you do and getting lost in it. Pushing that to new heights comes from being inspired in different ways and places.

If you could have tea with an idol or figure, who would it be? Why? 

Bowie. So humble and ever changing. Just to hear some stories in that calming voice...

So far, what has been your favourite highlight of your career? An achievement? A collaboration?

Designing a sticker with Donald Trump hair and spreading it in cities across North, Central and South America. People wanting to have and spread my work with was amazing. 

In regards to your craft, where do you want to be in 5 years?

To be in a position where I can produce work in multiple countries and travel as much as possible

Define your idea of ‘being wize’ or ‘having wizdom’ in the modern world. What is timeless about it?

Making decisions wizely, living with wizdom and balance.

What’s your favorite flavor of Wize Monkey Coffee Leaf tea? How do you drink it?

Jasmine. I like to cool it and throw it in a green smoothie.
